What is LGTM?

LGTM is short for “Looks Good To Me” — what you say in a code review when the change looks fine to you. An image next to that approval makes the exchange a little friendlier. LGTMate is a free tool for making and sharing those images.

How it works

  1. Pick one of your own photos or images. You can also start from a sample or a solid color.
  2. Drag the LGTM text where you want it, then change the size, color, and font.
  3. Save it as a PNG, or publish it to the gallery and copy the image URL or the Markdown.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Every feature is free. There are no ads and no affiliate links.

Do I need an account?

Not to make an image and download it. You can also publish up to three images to the gallery from the same browser without signing in. You need an account to add tags, and to delete your own posts later.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Loading and editing happen entirely in your browser. Your image is only sent to the server when you press “Publish to the gallery” — downloading sends nothing.

Which image formats are supported?

You can load JPG, PNG, and WebP. Downloads are PNG. Published images are stored as WebP, and transparency is preserved.
