Terms of Service

1. Scope

These terms set out the conditions for using the Service. By using the Service you accept them.

2. Accounts

Viewing, creating, and downloading images needs no account. You can publish up to three images from the same browser without one. Publishing beyond that, adding tags, and deleting your own posts all need an account.

• You can register with an email address and password, or with a GitHub or Google account. If you register with an email address, you cannot log in until you confirm it.
• Keeping your account secure is your responsibility.
• If we find abuse, we may suspend the account without prior notice.
• There is no self-service account deletion. To have your account deleted, email contact@lgtmate.com.

3. What you may publish

When you publish an image, one of the following must be true. We ask you to confirm this with a checkbox at publish time.

• You hold the rights to the image.
• You have permission from the rights holder to publish it.

4. Prohibited conduct

The following is not allowed.

• Publishing images that infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, likeness, or other rights.
• Publishing obscene, violent, or discriminatory images, or anything else contrary to public decency.
• Publishing content that defames a specific person or organisation.
• Bulk publishing by automated means, or anything else that interferes with running the Service.
• Exploiting vulnerabilities in the Service, or attempting unauthorised access.

5. How published images are handled

A published image becomes reachable through a direct image URL, so anyone can view or quote it. Publish only with that in mind.

If you withdraw an image, it disappears from the LGTM Gallery and from its image URL promptly. We cannot remove caches on other sites, or copies that have already been saved elsewhere.

6. Deletion and hiding

• If you published while logged in, you can delete your own posts at any time. A deleted post disappears immediately, and the stored image file is erased after seven days.
• If you published without logging in, you cannot delete the post yourself. Use Contact and include the URL of the image.
• We may hide a post suspected of breaking these terms, without prior notice.
• We keep data for a limited period after hiding a post, as far as needed to investigate reports.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as is. We are not responsible for the content of images published by users. To the extent permitted by law, we are also not liable for damages arising from interruption or discontinuation of the Service, or from loss of data.

8. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when needed. We will announce significant changes on this page.
